## Title

Reproduction request: Codex turn-diff checkpoint refs may keep project snapshot git objects without garbage collection; a reporter says cleanu

## Body

    What I found:
Reporter measured about 101.86 GiB in 8476 loose objects with zero commits and only Codex checkpoint refs, describing total project .git growth from about 5.7 GB to about 140 GB before self-reported cleanup.
A comment on #29388 recommends confirming loose size with git count-objects -v and unreachable objects with git fsck --unreachable --no-reflogs before any reclaim, plus checking git stash list.

    Evidence:

    Still unknown:
Whether Codex will prune superseded checkpoint refs and unreachable objects automatically in a future release.

    Useful next check:
Whether Codex will prune superseded checkpoint refs and unreachable objects automatically in a future release.
