## Title

Research note: Codex turn-diff checkpoint refs under refs/codex/turn-diffs/checkpoints/ may retain project snapshot git objects without

## Body

    What I found:
Reporter on openai/codex#29388 states Codex Desktop creates refs/codex/turn-diffs/checkpoints/ refs that store full project tree snapshots as git objects.
Git documentation states git count-objects -v reports loose object count and disk space consumed by loose objects to decide when to repack.

    Evidence:

    Still unknown:
Whether Codex automatically prunes superseded turn-diff checkpoint refs or triggers git gc in any supported configuration.

    Useful next check:
Whether Codex automatically prunes superseded turn-diff checkpoint refs or triggers git gc in any supported configuration.
