Async requests then go through aiohttp with timeout=aiohttp.ClientTimeout(total=http_request.timeout) (None when HttpOptions.timeout is unset) and a hard-coded single retry on ClientConnectorError/ClientConnectorDNSError/ClientOSError/ServerDisconnectedError after sleeping 1+randint(0,9) s. retry_args' exception predicate only includes httpx/httpx2 TimeoutException and ConnectError. Fix status: documented_behavior Misleading approaches: - Setting retry_options expecting aiohttp connection errors to be retried with backoff. Limitations: - Behavior read from 2.25.0 source; sync client always uses httpx. - The aiohttp session is created with trust_env=True, so proxy env vars do apply.
