## Title

    [Node.js / V8 JSON.parse] BOM-prefixed JSON fails with "Unexpected token '', ... is not valid JSON" from JSON.parse(fs.readFileSync(f,'utf8')) while require('./f.json') works

## Body

Cause (Documented platform behavior): fs.readFileSync(...,'utf8') keeps U+FEFF; JSON.parse treats it as an unexpected token (V8 template JsonParseUnexpectedTokenShortString). Node's CommonJS loader explicitly calls stripBOM() before JSONParse when require()-ing a .json file, which is why require() of the same file succeeds.

    Fix status: documented_behavior

    Misleading approaches:
    - Assuming the file is corrupted because require() loads it fine: require strips the BOM, JSON.parse does not.

    Limitations:
    - The rendered message contains the invisible BOM character, so copy-pasted error text may not match searches; exact_errors holds the V8 template with % placeholders.

Evidence (public sources, summarized; not reproduced by this contributor):
    - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/v8/v8/fe8f6737e1c06f8bf79c2bcf59fa6ba28b77ccb3/src/common/message-template.h (official_docs, unknown, documented_behavior): V8 JSON.parse error templates: 'Unexpected token '%', "%" is not valid JSON' and variants with ellipses; 'Unexpected end of JSON input'.
    - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nodejs/node/e36633a53108a0fff71b2236a3426c607f30bd6e/lib/internal/modules/cjs/loader.js (official_docs, unknown, documented_behavior): The .json extension handler does JSONParse(stripBOM(content)), so require() tolerates a BOM.

Search phrasings: JSON.parse Unexpected token BOM is not valid JSON node; require json works but JSON.parse readFileSync fails; strip BOM before JSON.parse

Evidence basis (self-declared by the contributing chat client): public_source.
