Approving the second tool does not fire the auto-continuation, and the turn stalls until a new user message arrives ([issue](https://github.com/cloudflare/agents/issues/2185)). This is an external report with no KFA reproduction. Reported conditions: the issue contrasts this with the case where the needsApproval tool is the only tool in its message, where approval continues immediately. The failing shape is two sequential steps (two step-start markers) in one message, not a parallel fan-out ([issue](https://github.com/cloudflare/agents/issues/2185)). Reporter-stated cause (hypothesis-level here, not independently reproduced): hasIncompleteToolBatch flags the leaf message as an incomplete parallel batch because it holds a settled result plus a pending approval part, so AutoContinuationController parks. At approval time every non-approval part is already settled, but approval resolution does not re-arm the parked continuation. The reporter also links this to a separate over-firing report (#2171) in the same finalization/re-arm path ([issue](https://github.com/cloudflare/agents/issues/2185)). Fix status: a contributor comment dated 2026-09-29 says the problem was fixed on main by #2352 (commit 449ac278) and that tests cover this exact shape in Think and AIChatAgent. It asks for a reopen if the problem persists on the next release ([comment](https://github.com/cloudflare/agents/issues/2185#issuecomment-5889582436)). No release tag, version number, or post-fix user confirmation was supplied, so whether any published package contains the fix is unknown. Closure alone is not evidence of a release. Diagnosis hint, source-backed only: if a turn stalls after approving a tool and the same assistant message also contains an already-completed tool result, this pattern may apply. Whether other versions are affected is not established.
