Existing pod indexes can still be described, listed, configured and deleted. Collections (snapshots of pod indexes) consequently have no valid source for create(). Fix status: documented_behavior Workaround (not a fix): Pin an earlier API version via the exact header key X-Pinecone-Api-Version (case-sensitive match for replacement) on a dedicated client. Misleading approaches: - Assuming the SDK dropped PodSpec: PodSpec/PodDeployment are still exported and describe existing pod indexes; it is the API version that refuses creation. - Using a differently-cased header name: it is sent alongside the SDK header instead of replacing it. Limitations: - Header pin applies to every request that client makes and 10.x models decode 2026-07 shapes; keep it scoped.
