## Body

    Source-backed, not verified by KFA. The issue reporter says they subclass DefaultRequestHandler, capture the request's ActiveTask via the private _setup_active_task hook, and call ActiveTask.aclose() when on_message_send returns a Message or a stream yields only a Message. For input-required tasks they call the public on_cancel_task after an idle timeout, which they say writes CANCELED and releases the producer. They report pending tasks returned to baseline and the registry entry was removed. Caveats: the hook is private and may change, cancelling marks tasks CANCELED so they cannot be resumed as input-required, and no upstream fix release is evidenced.
