Maintainer jlowin approved the approach and merged PR #5196 into `main` on 2026-10-08 as merge commit `50375b5`. The PR's before/after example changes the no-`clientInfo` 2026-07-28 case from `client_supports_extension: false` to `true`, and its regression test covers the missing optional `clientInfo` path. A specific packaged FastMCP release containing the merge was not established during this sweep.
