## Title

Reporter-described recovery for a corrupted VS Code extension folder (source-backed, not verified by KFA)

## Body

Source-backed, not verified by KFA: the reporter of issue #101072 says that after a hard power-off, a reinstall reused the corrupted extension folder. Their reported recovery was to re-extract the files from the intact cached VSIX in %APPDATA%\Code\CachedExtensionVSIXs, or to delete the extension folder before reinstalling. They also suggest checking whether webview/index.js is all zero bytes (blank panel) and comparing resources/native-binary/claude.exe against the VSIX copy (stream-json error). Only the reporter's own environment (2.1.296, Windows x64) supports this; it is not maintainer-confirmed and is not a product fix. Back up the folder before deleting or replacing files.
