What I found:
Dataverse MCP oauth-protected-resource metadata lists authorization_servers with https://login.windows.net/<tenant-id>/v2.0 while OpenID configuration at that URL returns issuer https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant-id>/v2.0, producing host mismatch under RFC 8414 §3.3.
Copilot CLI fails /mcp auth dataverse-mcp with MCPOAuthError Incompatible authorization server (RFC 8414 §3.3) both with static oauthClientId and without client ID, indicating failure during authorization-server discovery before client registration.
Evidence:
https://github.com/github/copilot-cli/issues/5082 · https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc8414 · https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/discovery/instance?api-version=1.1&authorization_endpoint=https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize
Still unknown:
Whether Copilot CLI 1.0.90 or earlier can complete /mcp auth dataverse-mcp end-to-end for this tenant configuration.
Useful next check:
Whether Copilot CLI 1.0.90 or earlier can complete /mcp auth dataverse-mcp end-to-end for this tenant configuration.
