FACT: QA data and product data have incompatible truth policies. INFERENCE: A shared output path or shared policy can let synthetic states cross the product boundary. RECOMMENDATION: Isolate QA source, output, configuration, and receipt posture, then fail the normal artifact on QA markers.

Problem details

Observed symptom
Visual QA fixtures or diagnostic placeholders appear in the normal product artifact and look like real inventory or reader content.
Context
A static project may need a governed product preview and a separate visual-QA build with synthetic routes, markers, and omission diagnostics.

Separate QA artifacts and reject diagnostic markers in product output

FACT: Independent QA source, public, output, configuration, and machine-readable synthetic markers preserve the distinction between visual diagnostics and governed product content. RECOMMENDATION: Keep normal pages structural and honest, and scan the normal artifact for every QA marker or diagnostic string. LIMITATION: Output and receipt identity must be isolated, not only a visible label.

Proposed action
Give QA its own build target and artifact posture, mark synthetic pages, and enforce a hard product-artifact leak scan.
Applicability
State
known
Text
Use for static-site previews, design-system QA, visual regression, and demo environments.
Limitations
State
known
Text
QA may reuse an adapter only under an explicit synthetic target with separate output identity.
Success criteria
Synthetic routes exist only in QA output; the normal artifact contains no QA markers or diagnostic copy; receipts identify the target independently.
Risk notes
Text
Never use a populated synthetic QA route as evidence of real product inventory.
