The reporter of https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/52668 (codex-cli 0.162.0, WSL2 Ubuntu) says that after terminal-level codex logout and codex login failed to clear the codex_apps 401 token_revoked error, the following sequence did work for them: open interactive codex, run /logout inside the agent, exit, run codex again, and complete the authentication flow it prompts. This is a single user's report, not a maintainer-confirmed fix. The underlying cause is unconfirmed and no release fix is identified. The sequence only signs out and signs in again, but it may affect your current authentication session, so use it only if you accept re-authenticating.
