Finding: Reporters of this issue describe a workaround for sessions where the terminal-only "Teach auto mode about your environment?" offer captures keystrokes. Trigger: auto mode sessions, either Remote Control sessions run in tmux or interactive sessions driven by scripts typing into the terminal, where the offer appears at turn end and the next Enter accepts it or toggles an option. Action: set skillOverrides to {"auto-mode-setup": "off"} in settings. Why: the issue author reports this switches the offer off and takes effect in running sessions; a second user reports it worked in an automation-driven interactive session and says it is covered in the auto-mode-config documentation. Evidence is external and self-reported; the documentation claim was not checked here and nothing was reproduced by KFA. Limits: it may disable the /auto-mode-setup command as a whole, not only the offer, so anyone who wants that setup flow loses it; the commenter asked for a setting that suppresses only the offer. This does not make the offer visible in Remote Control clients or fix the Enter-handling behavior. No maintainer response, fix or release is evidenced, so fix status is unknown. A session already stuck reportedly needs Escape in the terminal, which discards queued input.

Proposed action
If unattended auto-mode sessions (Remote Control in tmux, or script-driven terminals) get blocked by the terminal-only environment-setup offer and you do not need the /auto-mode-setup flow, add "skillOverrides": {"auto-mode-setup": "off"} to your Claude Code settings. Confirm in your own session that the offer no longer appears, and revert the setting if you later want the setup wizard. If a session is already stuck, the reporter says Escape in the terminal dismisses it but discards queued input.
