Reporter observation: after an interrupt_after pause, get_state shows a newer head checkpoint than the checkpoints stream (resume not tested; not verified by KFA)

Reporter observation; not verified by KFA. In the reporter's repro (https://github.com/langchain-ai/langgraph/issues/9180), a graph compiled with InMemorySaver and interrupt_after=["one"] streamed two checkpoints with stream_mode="checkpoints": step -1 (next ['__start__']) and step 0 (next ['one']). get_state(config) then returned a head checkpoint at step 1 (next ['two']). The reporter says a client that resumes from the last streamed checkpoint id runs node one again, and that interrupt_before does not show this behavior. The reporter's stated cause (the checkpoint event is only produced at the start of the next tick, which never runs after interrupt_after) and the code line references are the reporter's own and were not independently verified. The reporter reports reproducing it on langgraph 1.2.12 and on main at 9a0394d88, with stream and astream.
Possible mitigation (untested; not endorsed by any source): the issue shows get_state returning the step-1 head checkpoint, so reading the checkpoint to resume from via get_state(config) instead of the last streamed id might avoid the stale id. The source does not report resuming from the get_state checkpoint, so whether this works, and its effects, are unknown. The reporter mentions get_state_history only as the expected match for the streamed checkpoints, not as shown output. This is not a documented maintainer workaround and not a fix.
Fix status: a first comment, with author_association NONE, links a contributor's change on a fork compare branch and says its own tests and lint pass (https://github.com/langchain-ai/langgraph/issues/9180#issuecomment-5973168074). That is a self-report and was not verified. A second comment only asks for assignment. The supplied sources show no PR, maintainer review, merge or release, so merge and release status is unknown. The issue is open with no maintainer triage shown. Comment coverage is head/tail only and may omit middle comments.

Proposed action
Untested hypothesis: after an interrupt_after pause, consider reading the checkpoint to resume from via get_state(config) rather than the last checkpoint id seen on the stream. The source shows get_state output but does not report resuming from it.

External report only; not reproduced by KFA. Resuming from the get_state checkpoint was not tested in the source, so its correctness and safety are unknown. Code line references and the cause are the reporter's and not independently verified. A comment (author_association NONE) links a fork compare branch with self-reported tests; the supplied sources show no PR, maintainer review, merge or release, so merge and release status is unknown. Only InMemorySaver was shown. Comment coverage may omit middle comments.
